About us

We purchased L'Alpee during our very first visit to Sixt in 2004, after falling in love with the chalet and it's location. The owner run chalet is open all year round with each season offering a different experience.

In the summer, there is a huge variety of activities to enjoy, all making the most of the incredible natural environment. In winter, Sixt is part of one of the largest ski areas in France - Le Grand Massif - offering 265km of varied pistes. Spring sees the valley and mountains come back to life after their winter slumber, with delightful alpine flowers and spectacular waterfalls fuelled by the melting snows. Autumn is a great time for hiking particularly with ideal weather and no snow to negotiate.

Sixt Alpine Chalet is co-owned by Liam, Sean & Linda.

Sean has been venturing into the mountains of the UK and Europe since the age of 10 and is an experienced walker, climber and skier. Having worked in corporate finance and IT for 15 years, he now loves to share his passion for the mountains with guests. He has a strong customer service focus and will always try his hardest to ensure you have a great holiday with us.

Liam's love of the mountains started after a number of summer holidays hiking in Chamonix. Having worked in corporate finance for 12 years he decided to combine his love of the mountains in the summer and winter and start running a chalet in the village of Sixt fer a Cheval. Liam also has a background in catering and hospitality from his days working in a popular village inn in the Cotswolds. Liam & Linda got married in Sixt in 2008.

Linda Buckley

Linda is married to Liam and currently fronts Sixt Alpine Chalet's UK office but comes to Sixt as often as she can to ski and snowshoe in the winter and loves to go hiking in the Summer and discover new walks in the area. Linda currently works as a Private Client Tax Manager for a large International accountancy firm.
