Sixt Alpine Chalet is perfectly located to take advantage of the many trails to be found in the Giffre valley - many starting from the chalets front door. The walks range from gentle strolls along the valley bottom to multi-day treks using the excellent network of mountain refuges. With some of the ski lifts open to walkers and cyclists in July & August, it is possible to cheat a bit and save the legs! Summer Activities
Hiking Holidays Sixt Alpine Chalet has a spacious (50m2) open plan lounge and dining area, with a cosy wood burner and superb views of the valley and village below. It also has a seperate fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and microwave.
Rafting There are several providers of river activities in the area - chalet guests can benefit from special rates with Sixt Aventure Passion. Activities include white-water rafting, kayaking and hydro-speed - tackling the rapids on a body board!! The Giffre river running through Sixt is a great location to experience these activities - and only a 3 minute walk from the chalet!
Donkey Trekking Another unique experience! This is a great way to explore the mountains whilst the donkey carries all your kit! A great day out especially with children.
Paragliding Definitely one for the more adventurous visitor! There are several providers ready to take you up into the mountains - and then throw you off! An amazing way to see the valley.
Pony Trekking Horse riding is available in the Cirque de fer a Cheval for children and adults alike. There are also some guided routes which take you to some of the most spectacular scenery the area has to offer. |
